This is my 67 Bronco Sport shortly after I bought it in 1995. The only thing I modified in this picture is the hole
in the hood to allow for a larger air cleaner. Otherwise, it was completely stock when I bought it in
South Dakota. It was originally a Texas truck.
If I could do it over again, I would have left this one stock and modify a bronco that was already modified or needed work.
Clean stock broncos are almost impossible to find around here and this one could have cleaned up very nice.
This is what the bronco looked like after I did a few modifications in 1997.
I added bushwacker front & rear fender flares to allow room for the 31x10.5 AT tires.
At stock height this was enought to keep the tires from rubbing. The fiberglass
hood scoop came from K Bar S. The paint job came from about 7 rattle cans of flat black
from Walmart. This paint served it purpose. I wanted rid of the factory faded cream but didn't
want to spend money on a good paint job until I had the body the way I wanted it.
Okay, getting a little closer. I started to put on the parts I've been buying on the internet for
the last 4 years. I added a rollbar, a smittybuilt front bumper, custom tube rear bumper off of my first 76 bronco,
Dana 44 front axle from a 74, 3 1/2" suspension lift which consists of rancho coils, skyjacker leafs & Rancho 5000 shocks.
All this left me room for 33 x 12.50 mudder tires. Also for year 2000 I added a Kayline bikini top and bucket seats
out of a late 90's Ford Probe GT.
It's fall of 2000 and its time for body work, a new fender, floor boards, and a tailgate overhaul. I put on a
2" body lift and new body mounts while I was at it.
Its Febuary of 2001 and the ride home was a cold one. New coat of Viper Yellow paint. Now its time to put in the
gray Herculiner bedliner in the tub, put everything back together, and then go tire shopping for
35 x12.50 BFG MT's.
Notice the 77 with plow in the background. Guess what axles are now in the 67?? Hello big bearings and disc brakes and power steering.
